The information gained through observation is so valuable because it helps one form a developmentally appropriate program that adapts to the unique developmental patterns and timing of growth of the children. The information gained through observation also provides the childcare provider to be better prepared a variety of materials and activities that support children's individuality and meet their unique developmental needs.

Why is the information gained through observation so valuable?

Intentional observation, combined this thoughtful assessment, creates teaching/learning moments that are individualized and highly impactful for each individual child and their developmental growth.

Information through observation is so valuable because each child is not the same. Growth is not set in stone. The more we observe the smaller we can set the spectrum but we will never fully close it down to one specific age.
