Discussion 3.1: How would you approach a parent or caregiver about the need for a referral for developmental screening of their child? What do you need to consider before talking to a parent or caregiver?
I would make sure that I have gathered info from my observations in various ways. photos. dated and time stamped events. video. etc.
I would approach the family member or teacher with understanding that this may be brand new news to them.  I would not want to alarm them.  I would  let them know that observation is ONE tool we use.  I would want them to know that we are all on the same team.
