I think what all young children need to thrive is a balanced focus on their emotional, social, intellectual, physical, and health needs. For example, some emotional needs include feeling loved, safe, be listened to, and be independent. Some social include interact with people of all ages, learn how to share and take turns, and learn what it means to be a friend. Some intellectual include asking questions, create things, and use their senses. Some physical and health needs include practicing their skills, experience a variety of environments, and learn signs to avoid danger. There are many other needs for children to thrive, but these are some of the basics.

In order to thrive, kids need their basic needs met, such as food, clothing, shelter, safety and health. They also need to feel love, support and appreciation. Children need help in making good choices and learning from their mistakes. Their educational and physical health need to be addressed as well.

Preschool is a great place for kids to learn independence and how the world around them works. Preschool fulfills their need for social interactions with the peers and the opportunity to discover who they are.

Children need to be nurtured. Further than just their physical needs, they need to be emotionally supported and taught how the world operates. They need to be around others and they need to be stimulated.
