A continuum is a sequence or progression of something. Every child has a developmental contiuum. It is the expected or predictable order in skills they should learn. Like infants need to roll over, crawl, sit up on their own, pull themselves up, take steps with help, standing on their own, then finally taking their steps on their own.

Every stage of life has a continuum that is individual to that child. Though there is an expected continuum for everyone, environment and genetics plays a big role in how everyone's continuum is based.
