Maltreatment is any form of abuse or neglect.
To become familiar with the signs of maltreatment ask other staff members or find the information out from a reliable source. As a staff I am required to watch for signs of neglect/abuse, and I must report it to CPS and local police if the child is in immediate physical danger or is already majorly injured and needs to be treated.
