This has come up a lot in my four years of teaching preschool. I learn pretty early in the year which child needs more time to transition, which needs more physical support, and which likes to be independent. Once I am aware of the different temperaments I know which children to place near each other at circle and which are better separated. I have enough variety in my room to meet everyone's interests and each child's day is a bit different from their peers.
