It's important to examine one's own cultural biases and to think about how you were raised or where you came from might be influencing the way that you treat others. If you notice cultural bias, you must do what you can through self-education to correct yourself. It's important that the families know things about you as well, so that they can see you as a human and relate to you on a more personal level. Keeping in touch with families through email, texts, photos, and a few kind words at pick up and drop off can go a long way.
