Caregivers spend a substantial amount of time with the children through the day. We get to know the child, what they like to do, things they don't like, favorite foods, etc. By getting to know them, watching their actions and behaviors through the day helps us better understand the child and helps us communicate with the family. Which then helps us build a better bond with the family. By getting to know families and how they all think different is helpful in creating a relationship with them. They may feel heard, understood, and acknowledged as a parent. And that gives them piece of mind that their child is cared for and their families beliefs and culture is respected.
