Get to know the families in your classroom. You can do this in a multitude of ways, through take home questionnaires, parent nights, or simply reaching out to them during drop-off and pick up. Consider the diversity and cultural influences that affect the families in your classroom, and encourage them to share aspects of their culture with the class. Try to make sure everyone feels included and welcome. Make sure to communicate openly and honestly with parents, and address any questions or concerns that they may have to the best of your ability.
