A continuum is a continuous sequence or progression in something. For example, child development in a continuum because it never ceases to grow or expand, new milestones continue to build upon previous developmental milestones. Stacking a few blocks as an infant will expand as they get older into building towers, and buildings and other structures specific to the child's imagination or ideas.
