What is a continuum?

A continuum is a continuing sequence or progression. It includes a variety of developments such as simple steps to complicated steps, concrete to symbolic, general to specific, and large to small. A child's developmental continuum consist on steps and "building blocks" that help them develop learning and skills such as drawing pictures as a young child, to them becoming more precise as they age.

The continuum is a continuous sequence of progression of development:
-the general to the specific
-large to small
-simple to complex
-concrete to sympolic
For example a child's first drawing is typically simplistic but over time the child's drawings will become more detailed.
