Special needs services, medical/dental, food, housing, educational resources, social services. Community resources are valuable to families because they usually come to child care centers because they need help with these things. Being able to provide families with safety and security is optimal for a good environment for the child.

Types of community resources typically needed by families of young children are, Housing, food, and social services, Medical, dental, and mental health services, Development screening and assessment, Educational and recreation opportunities, Services for children with special health needs including respite care, Language assistance and resources in the primary language.

These are important to them because these are the resources they can turn to and ask questions if in need of any kind of help.
